Highlights of the Role
Join our water operations team as an Operations Analyst, where your expertise will help drive financial accuracy and operational efficiency. In this role, you’ll provide critical administrative, analytical, and technical support, contributing to budget preparation and performance analysis. You’ll collaborate closely with management and staff to ensure smooth operations and informed decision-making.
 
This Operations Analyst will be based in our San Tan facility, however you’ll spend time in our Fountain Hills facility for initial training. 
 
What You’ll Be Responsible For
  • Monitor and track Operating and Capital budgets, analyze variances, and provide clear explanations
  • Create and manage Capital projects, track spending, and prepare monthly financial performance reports
  • Generate and analyze reports on system delivery, lost water, cost per Kgal, capitalization rate, and related metrics
  • Process invoices, expense reports, and check requests, ensuring accurate account coding and reviewing monthly spending
  • Perform accounting tasks including data entry, report generation, overtime tracking, account reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution
  • Compile data for ACC reports, rate inquiries, and other intercompany requests
  • Provide support to staff and leadership, responding to questions and assisting with operational needs
  • Support other projects and responsibilities as requested
 
What’s Required to Be Successful
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of experience in operations support, accounting, or finance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access, with familiarity in customer information systems
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and interpersonal communication abilities
  • Knowledge of the water utility industry is a plus
